Thomas Kocher's Official Website!

Thomas Kocher was born in March 1979 in Salzburg/Austria.
At the age of 15 he discovered the drums inspired by his best friend and first drumteacher Marco Torskyj.

Thomas got most of his inspiration to improve his drumming by watching a lot of instructional videos from world-class drummers like Vinnie Colaiuta, Dave Weckl, Terry Bozzio, Virgil Donati, Simon Phillips, ….
Also keeping on taking lessons at several teachers until he was about 19 improoved his technique and rudimental skills.

At the age of 16 he joined his first band “Heavens Gravity”. Since the age of 19 Tom has been playing in several bands like FLASH (Hard Rock), Tanqeray (irish folk-Metal), Foggy Dew (Irish folk- Rock), Rusty (Elvis Impersonator), Atrium (Rock), C-Twice (Pop-Rock), Torso (Hard Rock), ASGARD (progressive Rock), WALLACHIA (Death Metal),…

In Fall 2004 Tom decided to go to Los Angeles, where he recorded a demo of his drumming to find gigs. There he met Derek Rathy and drummed in his band called SIDESHOW – produced by Dale Penner (Nickelback).
